10up continues to integrate AI into WordPress with ClassifAI

The latest 2.1 and 2.2 releases of ClassifAI incorporate new applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within WordPress, adding new simplifications and enhancements to common editorial workflows.

ClassifAI can now offer SEO-friendly title suggestions generated by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, by analyzing post content and identifying clear words and phrases best suited to boost SEO. This feature offers editors three title suggestions, which can be edited directly in the suggestions interface before making a selection.

ClassifAI now offers a natural sounding text-to-speech feature through an integration with Microsoft Azure, which affords visitors the option to listen to a story instead of reading it. Read-to-me features improve site accessibility, can increase engagement for on-the-go visitors who prefer audio, and opens up avenues for new forms of content monetization in the future.

On the flip side, utilizing OpenAI’s Whisper, ClassifAI can now transcribe audio files in seconds into post content, saving time making written content creation and audio content consumption accessible, and opening up new avenues for content creators to publish interviews, story ideas recorded on the go, and other content more quickly. Whisper has been trained on 680,000 hours of multilingual audio, yielding accurate and clear transcriptions.

Powered by an integration with OpenAI’s Embeddings API, ClassifAI can now tag and categorize content using only terms that were already in use on the website, rather than inventing new terms as alternative approaches built into ClassifAI will (e.g. IBM Watson tagging). This gives editors two powerful approaches to focus on creating the content while keeping your site organized.

ClassifAI’s latest updates also feature a number of smaller, iterative innovations and refinements, including:

  • Keeping pace with evolving best practices for AI content, ClassifAI now adds attribution for the image generation service when using AI-generated images;
  • Image and post title generation are now supported in the WordPress Classic Editor, in addition to the “Gutenberg” block editor;
  • Adds text-to-speech generation support while Bulk Editing, from the All Posts view, and via a WP-CLI command.

ClassifAI’s features weave natively into WordPress — integrating ClassifAI feels like an extension of your current editorial workflows, rather than a different tool to configure alongside it.

As AI technology continues to evolve, 10up is committed to adopting and open sourcing new innovations that support ClassifAI’s mission of editorial efficiency.
