Nineteen 10uppers Contribute to WordPress 6.7

WordPress released version 6.7 earlier this month, introducing the new default Twenty Twenty-Five Theme and greater design flexibility. Nineteen 10uppers contributed to the release, code-named “Rollins”.

This release brings more out-of-the-box design freedom than ever before, with new features such as:

  • A pared-down, flexible Twenty Twenty-Five Theme that is built to grow with your unique needs;
  • Customized font sizes with fluid typography to ensure responsive fonts no matter the size;
  • The ability to zoom out when editing content, to look at your site from a different perspective;
  • Code-free dynamic content by easily linking blocks to custom fields.

Alongside these core updates, WordPress 6.7 comes with more than 65 accessibility improvements, including keyboard navigation enhancements and an accessible heading on WordPress login screens.

WordPress 6.7 is named “Rollins” after legendary jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins. Rollins is known as a pioneer in jazz for his command of the tenor saxophone combined with bold spontaneity when improvising.

Peter Wilson, Lead Engineer, served as a Core Tech Co-Lead, Fabian Kaegy, Director of Editorial, Engineering as a Documentation Co-Lead, Ankit K. Gupta, Lead QA Specialist, as Test Lead, and Mukesh Panchal, Senior Web Engineer, as the Performance Lead for the 6.7 release. Associate Director of Engineering Joe McGill was also a Noteworthy Contributor.
